Quirky Morecambe

There was a good turn out for the latest meeting of Morecambe Mark Lodge No 716 which helped generate a vibrant atmosphere in both the lodge and the dining room. W.M. Alan Herron cannot have been anything but pleased at the turn-out for the first lodge following his installation.

The original plan had been to receive an explanation of the tracing board but ill-health meant that that could not go ahead.

To fill the gap in the agenda, at short notice, up stepped Peter Quirk who is a member, and the treasurer, of Jubilee Mark No 375. He gave a talk about the freemason and frontiersman Jim Bowie who died at the Battle of the Alamo along with other freemasons including Davey Crockett. Peter is the owner of an old and  impressive Bowie knife which he brought along to illustrate his talk. His presentation was very well received.
The meal that followed was thoroughly enjoyed There was good craic and humour throughout in what was another very pleasant evening spent enjoying the Magic of the Mark.
